A Charlie Brown Christmas

This past weekend was filled with lazy mornings, late brunches, and lots of movie watching. Saturday night Blayre and I went for sushi and we ordered our food off of an IPad- Hello Future! Then we went to see the Silver Linnings Playbook, we LOVED it, so good, really enjoyed all of the performances- we left on such a high note, there was lots to talk about, go see it!! Yesterday afternoon we met a group for brunch at the fabulous restaurant Origin I had the best french toast, then Blayre and I went to the market and bought a Christmas Tree!! We are now less than a month away so why not enjoy it for all it's worth!! It the the most precious Charlie Brown Christmas tree, Harold(that is his name- bestowed upon him by the tree seller) sits proudly in the corner of our living room, Bruce has been scoping him out, all of the colour and light must intrigue him! Here is Harold, I love Christmas it is my favorite time of year, happy Monday all! xoxo

Weekend Cozies

1/2/3/4

After a long week I can't wait to sleep in, while wearing luxurious jammies. As I will be getting up at a leasurely rate, I would like to indulge in some delicious brunch(my favorite meal) and wash it down with an iced chai latte(with soy milk), or a cafe au lait. This would all be followed with a stop at my favorite market to browse antique treasures and ponder their journey into my home.  As I wander through the rows I will be listening to the hum of hundreds of other people around me looking to discover something meaningful to them. I love my weekend days, they last forever and go by so fast all at once. At the end of the day I will cuddle up with my loves in my same old jammies and wait till I can do it all again.

Green Pieces

I have noticed an influx of green accents in our home recently. I am not sure if it was a conscious decision, or if it is because we don't have a garden, but in lieu of summer I have been bringing the outdoors inside to create a more tropical inspired green space.

Normally I have not been one to work with the color green, but I have always felt that it ads a freshness to whatever it is added to. There is something very zen and almost healthy to be surrounded by lush green accents and plant life.  I love adding a slice of lime to my club soda, or a sprinkling of arugula to my pizza- or a new palm leaf throw pillow to my sofa.

To add pops of green to your own home- place a handful of limes in a pretty dish on a tray for a bar set-up, or add a few branches of green leaves from your garden to create a rustic look.

Do you make any changes to your home if the summer?

Snapshots

Hey Everyone hope you had a great weekend- to all of the Canadian readers happy Victoria day!! SO nice to have the day off. Everyone is out at the park with their families enjoying the heat (going up to 32°  that would be the equivalent of 89°- Hot, Hot, Hot- I have been slathering on my 85 sun cream so I don't burn!! Here are some pics of the weekend. My dear friend Carmelo was here visiting we had a great time, lots of laughs, good food and fun - as I anticipated!! Have a great day out in the sun!

1. While in the Beaches we hit up Tori's Bakeshop, a charming Vegan bakeshop full of great treats and adorable seating to chill out- after hitting up the beach. We fell in love with the interior and the subtle green accents throughout the space. Must try the double chocolate brownie.

2. I am such a lover of anything Palm Beach- so I thought these flamingo print flats were adorable- and would look great paired with a coral blouse and white jeans.

3. Chinatown has the most amazing array of really well priced dishes and serving items. Here was a little tea pot and dish set I really fell for- what is not to love about Hot pink paired with soft yellow, and mint green?? This is a great place for someone to pick up a great dish set on a tight budget.

4. Bruce cruisin' in the car- just had to include this... Too cute! He loves riding in the car.

5. Lucite bracelet I scored at the St. Lawrence Market a few weeks back. Wearing it with everything... Love tortoise shell.

6. Carmelo and I enjoying the heat on a patio on Saturday afternoon with my sis(not pictured) there was a line to get into this place- Toronto loves the heat!

Art Deco Horses

As you all know, I love going to the antique fair each Sunday at the St. Lawrence Market!

This week I did find a little tray- which I will include in a picture later this week, but here are the two items that really caught my eye. I am thinking these are very Kelly Wearstler, Art Deco, South Beach- very chic boutique hotel, I am loving them, and the color is gorgeous-.

Anyways they were about $350 for the pair, and about 2 feet tall. Unfortunately we don't have room in our current space. I know that I will be thinking about these for a long time!

What do you think,?? If you are lucky maybe you could be the proud owner if you scoop them up next week??

A Few Things...

Each week I look forward to Sundays where I can browse along the isles of the St. Lawrence Market.... There is always a piece or two that shines a little more than the others, and the thrill of the bargain makes it even more exciting!! Someone actually congratulated me yesterday for purchasing the Queen Elizabeth portrait!! I love it- it fits perfectly on my desk top!! I have also always warted a ring tray- I found this for 5 dollars!! And the ruby ring is another fun piece of costume jewelry to add to my collection!! Also a fad ashtray from the fifties for my future coffee table.....No it may not be used it is just for show!!!

And how could I do a post and not include a picture of Brucey!! xoxo Hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Monday!!

2 Great Finds

Over the past weekend at the St. Lawrence Market Blayre and I found two great pieces. We are both big fans of Mad Men and so we have been looking for the perfect decanter for some time- we found one and bargained it down to $12 dollars, I love it all we need now is some Scotch!! Or maybe instead some Schnaps Butter Ripple!!!

We also picked up a beautiful serving platter, I can't wait to use this! So pretty, it will look great with a nice big salad on it or cupcakes, or anything served family style, I love to mix old and new so this is definitely a great find!!

Dashing Through the Snow...

It is a beautiful Winters day in Toronto- actually it is getting pretty dark, and looking kind of depressing and cold at the moment! Snow is falling and Christmas is in 19 days!! So soon!! I hope that everyone is doing there Christmas shopping!

Yesterday I was at the St. Lawrence Market for Sunday Antiques and they had a lovely outdoor arrangement of wreaths, trees, and pretty Christmas foliage! Stop by if you are in the area.

Here is a look at the out door market!

What "Christmassy" activities did you do this weekend?
