Baby Love

This room was designed for the baby on the Upper East Side. There is something very chic and tailored about this room, though when creating, it was important to me that it was practical and looked full of love and playfulness. One day when I have children I wish to create a zen atmosphere where I can hold my child and read them some of my favorite childhood books. A place where memories can be made, a place where if they should wish to look back they will see the love and time I put into creating. I want the colours to be soothing, and not reflect too feminine or too masculine( I know this is quite girly) but if I paint an accent wall pale aqua that's a fair compromise right? I can't wait to have a little darling!

The Best of Etsy

As a decorator I am always searching for the best quality item, but I am also looking for something price conscious. Last night in the wee hours of the morning I was inspired to to find new items to spruce up your home without breaking the bank. Here are my findings!

Milk & Cookies

What a lovely surprise to come home to today!

Just received two new throw pillows from Milk and Cookies on Etsy. I went with a Lilac Ikat print, and a Chartreuse link pattern. I LOVE them, you must check out the shop, the prices are amazing and there is an extensive selection- something for everyone(Christmas present anyone??)!

They add a big punch of color to the living room. I am thinking they will go on our chairs(we have yet to buy) in the future!! Sew in love!

Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?

Recently we purchased these chairs from one on my friends Shannon from the blog 8 Foot 6. What do you think? I really love the orange but I think I would like to get them reupholstered in maybe a striped fabric, something more subdued- because although I really love all of the color, I think it is just too much. Oh yes, and I think I would stain them a darker color- or paint black... Thoughts?

I also rearranged the book case so that I wasn't color blocking the books. I am into a cleaner look lately.

And how precious is Brucey sleeping on one of our new Loubella from Etsy pillows??? We just ordered another from her- check out her stuff here.

Greek

Blayre and I purchased this pillow yesterday on Etsy and I can't wait to get it!! I was first taken by it when I saw it in Lonny Magazine in this piece they had done about travel and design. I thought to myself "What the hell- why not!!" I have never yet purchased anything from Etsy so I am majorly excited it should be here by weeks end!! It will definitely add a huge pop of color to the couch. I also want to pair it with this image I found.

Blame it on the Weatherman

Sitting at my desk watching the rain/snow terrorise the city. On the way home I rescued a tulip to liven things up a little!! I pray that the beautiful weather returns, I fear for the flowers!!
