A Day in the Life

I realized that I don't share enough about my day to day, pictures of myself, while I am out and about. I wanted to start a new series where I share little tidbits of my world, I am always taking pictures of well, everything, so might as well show my friends!! Here are a bunch of pics from my life lately. No I don't have Instagram.... wah wah.

1. Loved this sheepskin covered pouf at Mi Casa in Cabbagetown. Love the tray styling too- so pretty and feminine.
2. Waiting at the theater after seeing The Great Gatsby (GO SEE IT- so stunning throughout) Favorite summer drink= Iced Soy Chai Latte. Bracelets J.Crew & Forever 21. Best to mix High and Low.
3. Ranunculus at my local greenhouse- can't wait to showcase some of these beauties on our balcony this summer.
4. Totally in love with the phenomenally cool photography of Slim Aarons- have been following for a while now. Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous. This would look so happy on my coffee table!!

5. Maximizing in this striped dress. I didn't buy it, went back, sold out. What to do. Hells Bells.
6. Location scouting this AMAZING location downtown Toronto. Malaparte by Oliver and Bonacini- this picture doesn't do it justice. The view is amazing, night time will be even cooler- can't wait.
7. Shopping in Chinatown the other day- natural rock galore.
8. Sandal shopping- would these stay on?? I am in need of cute neutral sandals.

9. Went for a lunch date with Tiffany from Tiffany Leigh Interior Design on Monday. She was SOOO incredibly sweet & funny. I LOVE meeting Blog friends in person so much fun, so much to talk about- we went to Earls, I got sushi rolls and salad. Yum.
10. Trying on summer dresses. For me this dress is my jam. I like to keep it simple. I bought it. Good Grief I have White legs.
11. I love this city- beautiful park on Church Street and King- full of lovely tulips.
12. Lunch date with Blayre at Canteen. Baja Fish tacos & Edamame Salad. The Best.

13. Barnacle love- have always loved this piece at Mi Casa.
14. Bruce stretching out- look how cute is that. I melt.
15. Trying on a childrens dress at Old Navy. Yep saw someone else do it so I followed suit- I loved it, but feared if even the slightest breeze were to sweep by, I may be revealing TMI. If I had a daughter though she would be wearing this number in 2 shakes...
16. Blayre and I picked up a few of these fab coffee cups, acrylic handles, glass cups. SO CHIC. from Loblaws Maple Leaf Gardens.

Mood

So here is what i am thinking for this part of the living room. I want to get that chair reupholstered, as when i got it it looked as if someone had died on it.... So yeah- also I want to get a pillow made for the seat of it so that it is even comfier, I want it to be functional. Eventually it is possible that this chair could end up on either side of our dining room table, only time will tell!!

Then with the help of Chair Table Lamp, I found some of these beautiful desks/ dressers that I think would be lovely behind the chair, I would love to house a little bar area over there with a pretty lamp, and a mirror above, or a really interesting photograph like the one above. We are clearly going with a blue and white theme!!

Here is an image of a lamp I am looking at as well as a bar I love.....

Love of Mine

Wow, it's that time of year again.... I can't believe how quickly time has flown by and soon we all will be opening presents from under our Christmas trees!! Today I was at Love of Mine on Queen Street West, and they had the most adorable display! I love it- I am definitely getting into the spirit! I used to remember cringing at the thought of a white Christmas Tree, but I am now all for it. The pastels/glitter really pops against the white, it looks really modern, but also feels somewhat traditional- maybe it is because they had a vintage vibe. Anyways I really like it!! Do you know how you will be decorating your tree for the holidays?? Can't wait to be home with the family!!

Check out the store- they definitely have some great gifts- incloding the very chic mug, and gun soap!!

Sunday: The St. Lawrence Market

I try to go to the market on Sundays- that is the St. Lawrence Antique Market. I absolutely love it there! I could spend hours walking around the large arena, chit chatting with the patrons, discussing the treasures I see in front of me. There are such characters there, all different walks of life, young and old! The best feeling is finding something special to add to your home! here is a peek at some findings!!

Mariska Meijers

Mariska & I

The other day I had the privilege of meeting Mariska Meijers!

She is currently in Toronto, so we met up at the fabulous King West restaurant Spice Route for lunch and drinks. It is really unbelievable that through blogging I have come to interact with all of these people I deeply admire, I never would have thought blogging would lead to this. In person she is funny, beautiful and her passion for what she does as an artist is inspiring. I learnt a lot from her and I am glad I can now call her a friend!

Check out her website for more of her works, and her story, it is so interesting. Also after 4 short years as an artist the public has celebrated her work, and has been published several times including the likes of Elle Singapore, and has even been in a documentary in Holland. She recently launched a beautiful line of pillows, I can't wait to see what she will do next. For Mariska it seems the opportunities are endless.

Fish and Chippy's

Are you a fan of Fish and Chips? This place is super adorable, and a neighbourhood favorite, located on Queen Street West it's hard to miss. I ordered haddock, and curry sauce while my boyfriend got pepper dipping sauce. Dee-lish!! There was a lot of batter though... Anyways Blayre said it all, so I guess it's just a matter of personal taste, and he is a guy...

Yummy Stuff

So yesterday I ventured to Parkdale again and came upon a really great Bakery, called Yummy Stuff. (I love the name it's straight to the point!) If you haven't already been and you live in Toronto you need to check it out! The decor is cute and quirky and the cupcakes were divine! I tried a Raspberry while my friend tried a Carrot cake, they had a really fun variety such as Bacon, Orange Poppyseed(I want to try that one) and many more treats such as cakes, lemon squares etc... Visit their website for more information.
