Time for A Change

Our top floor is under going a big change.
We recently moved around/moved out/repurposed a lot of the furniture that we had in this space. It has really been a challenge since the layout is really not meant to accomodate an office space and bedroom area. I think we have been pretty resourceful though, as we needed to facilitate enough space for the printer, 2 work spaces, all of Blayre's camera equipment and my design related materials. We are going to be changing out Blayre's desk within the next week, finding an area rug for beneath his chair so it doesn't damage the floor. I will be switching our current bedside lighting, changing out our bedding, (for something more muted and classic) and we have been talking about a King Sized bed/frame possibly. Painting the dresser FINALLY- as soon as the weather gets a little nicer it is happening... The list goes on and on.... Oh yes and I also want a bench at the end of the bed.

Office Space

Happy Monday all. Hope you had a good weekend. Last night I enjoyed watching the closing ceremonies of the olympics. Although The Spice Girls were officially never going to perform again after their world tour a few years ago they did, and I just loved it. Their music is so nostalgic for me, it takes me back to when I was in the sixth grade standing on my friends back patio singer our hearts out pretending to be superstars. I was always Posh Spice, and speaking of Vic, it looked like Ms. Beckham was holding on for dear life as the cars pulled away at the end- she was in "Killer" heels too so good thing she didn't fly off the back!

Yesterday I finally found a shade for my lamp that has been sitting bare for moths, I always wanted a black shade so I am pleased with the way it looks, I still have some work to do in my "office" area, but for now this small change has been a big pick me up in that small space. I also picked up two lucite stackable trays to hold my jewellery, I love how it is displayed so that I can find everything easily, and it looks pretty! I think it has made quite the improvement on the former clutter that swamped the desk. Ahhh yes, the simple things.

Inspiration Station

Monday has just flown by- I have been so busy lately that the days have started to blur. It is really a great feeling though I have to say, I would rather be busy then at home all day doing nothing(although I love those days as well). Along with everything I am trying to get done with my growing business, I am always trying to organize and improve my home. Over the weekend Blayre and I went to a rockin' antique sale at a church- it was amazing. There were so many great items there but it was so packed with people that it was really difficult to maneuver. We were lucky enough to get out hands on the lamp above, it was a steal at $7. I grabbed it and didn't let go- wasn't sure where we would put it right away, but it will live here for awhile. I really want to get it a nice black lampshade- I am thinking something like this one below, I think that will really take it up a notch! I would also like to add some bling to the top by adding something awesome like this- Wouldn't that be stellar??

Have a great night- I miss The Bachelor- yes I can't help it, I love that nonsense!!

Office Space

I have created a small office space in the bedroom with the help of a lack shelf from Ikea and a bulletin board, it has really come together as a functional space!! I love it, and it blends into the rest of the room! I think that I am still missing a thing or too, but I love it so far, It is so fun to work in small spaces!!
