Color Palette

Over time a color palette has been created throughout our home. White walls are the canvas which we have layered with color. I am not sure if it has been a conscious decision (in some cases yes) but I have repeated the same colors throughout over and over. In terms of designing our space, I didn't really have a plan. I did have a layout and an idea of what scale/proportions(of non- existing items) I wanted, but as far as color went, I just buy what I love, and let that take form naturally. Whenever I paint something, or add a new addition to the space it just so happens to be in the colour family of the hues displayed above. Funny how we become accustomed to what we like. I have about 10 different shades of lipsticks, glosses and tints, all within a shade of each other. If I like something I continue to incorporate it into my life, even if it isn't completely apparent to me! Isn't that strange! We are after all creatures of habit! 

Here is how to create a color palette: 

-Begin with a print or fabric that you really love

- Look for colors that will be complimentary

- Layer textured fabrics over top/ layer with decorative objects in color scheme desired

- Find a theme and play on that- not too literal

- Buy colors within the same family, and experiment with different shades

Tickled Pink

It is hot as hades in Toronto today- to be more accurate it is currently 31 degrees Celsius = 87.8 degrees Fahrenheit OMG, and did I mention we don't have air conditioning? Let's just say we are eating a lot of popsicles and ice cold drinks are being guzzled down! Pink is the first color I think of when I think of summer time, you can basically pair it with any color and it takes on a new look. Nothing is as feminine or fun then this hot hue. Try it with a neutral for something more contemporary, or something aqua for an island vibe, yellow if you really want to make it pop! Okay, must go stick my head in the fridge!! xoxo

Hey Ya'll! Hope you had a great weekend. Lately I have been feeling as if  time has been flying by at a supersonic speed. Blayre was away all of this past week and is returning tonight at long last. Sometimes it is nice to have moments apart so that you can really enjoy each other when you reunite. Even if it is just for a day- absence makes the heart grow fonder. As I was saying though it feels like I haven't seeing him in ages and yet the week flew by and today we get back into our grew as our little family of three- I can't wait!

I ordered sushi takeout on Friday- it was such a great treat to eat this and watch some good fashion docs on Netflix. Have you seen the movie about his life?? Fascinating!

Me with a very odd expression on my face modelling a jacket for my camera so I could later reference it!! IF you can possibly ignore the strange expression I would like to note that I really loved this jacket from Jacob. It fit like a glove and had extremely comfy stretch fabric.

Tangerine Kiss

I love this combination of colors, tangerine and lilac- I have been eyeing the lilac polish for a while now and decided to buy it today, why not?

Wouldn't it be Lovely if there were 500 Days of Summer?

I was so inspired by these beautiful pictures from Concrete and Honey that I just had to show you all, as the days go on I am wishing more and more that this Beautiful Spring weather we are having here is Montreal would fade into Summer and that it would then last forever- I don't think I am asking for too much am I!!
