Gatsby

Welcome to the World of Gatsby, glamorous, luxurious, decadent. Art Deco, excess, and mystery, obsession, love, are the themes of this incredible film by visionary filmaker Baz Lurhrmann. Long Island at its finest, New York City, the jewel of the Universe. In this dreamlike rendition of Fitzgeralds classic novel we get to be transported back to an age of super glam. Although we don't live in the Roaring 20's, by adding a little glitz & gloss to your space you may channel a little bit of Gatsby World in your everyday life Old Boy. xo

The Hunger Games

Have you read the Hunger Games? Chances are if you haven't already read the series you are probably going to be at the theater this weekend. Last night I bought tickets for a Satuday night viewing- and I couldn't be more excited. I don't think I have been this gitty to see a movie come to theater since Spice World, and then Harry Potter!!

The movie is getting rave reviews from fans and critics- from the trailers I feel like they really captured the essense of what Suzanne Collins wrote in this amazing series.

Not to offend but I am not a Twilight fan at all- I read one of the books from the series and it really made no impression on me- however as soon as I picked up the Hunger Games I was hooked. It is a smart, thrilling story about something so unfathomable, there are elements of fantasy, and yet it is very relatable. I don't want to give away anything I am going to very vague- the story surround a girl who is chosen to fight to the death in an indoor arena, against other young boys and girls from different districts.... Pretty crazy..

Katniss Everdeen is such an amazing character- for once while reading something I wasn't constantly wanting to pull my hair out saying "OMG Why Would You Do That STOP", she is smart, industirous, and girlfriend knows her way around a battle ground.

Anyways for anyone who is planning on seeing this let me know your thoughts- did you read the books? Did you think the way they cast this movie was good? I am still not sure about Peeta... Are you planning on going this weekend?

And as they say in the Hunger Games "May the odds be in your favor"

The Muppets

I went to see The Muppets this weekend and it was amazing! It was incredibly funny, touching and the music was catchy and reminiscent to the original Muppets we all know and love!

This is a must see movie, Jason Segel is really a genius for bringing these loveable misfits back to the big screen- you need to go with your family, friends, kids, dogs- Everyone will love it!!

What did you do this weekend?

Black Swan: Must See

If you haven't already seen Black Swan it is a MUST see!

There has been a lot of buzz about Natalie Portmans performance in this movie, and she fully lived up to my expectations- which were really high... I also had felt from the trailer I kind of knew the direction- but I was wrong, so I loved not knowing what was coming (because I am the type of person who is always guessing) The way that the movie is film captures the mood of the characters so well. It is a truly dark, and haunting story about which surrounds one of the most beautiful and delicate art forms: Ballet. I was fully convinced that Natalie Portman was a professional dancer, she was graceful, and elegant, and yet very disturbed.

Anyways I don't want to go into the plot- but you need to see this one.... Even just for the music of Swan Lake, costumes and performance make-up(which is garnering a lot of trends currently), the acting is superb, Winona Ryder one of my all time favorites has a small but interesting role, and if that isn't enough it was directed by the incredible Darren Aronofsky; known for Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler.

Watch this Sunday's Golden Globes to see if Natalie will take home the trophy!! I'm sure she will look gorgeous too!!

For those of you who saw it- what were your thoughts??

Never Let me Go

After seeing Carey Mulligan in And Education I was definitely a fan. Ever since I have been itching to see what she would come out with next.Never Let me Go co-starring Keira Knightley, Andrew Garfield, and Sally Hawkins, looks like a gripping coming of age tale as well as a little mysterious- NLMG originated as a novel by Japanese-born British author Kazuo Ishiguro, I think it looks incredible, I can't wait to see it! What do you think?
