I love this image. The styling is so zen and peaceful. Very elegant, and eclectic my favorite). I wanted to see if I could create this look on a budget. Most of what you see may be found at Ikea, the mirror is CB2, and the other decorative items could easily be found at Homesense/Urban Outfitters, thrifted of DIY. I am happy with the result. It is feminine and relaxed- a perfect place to hang out- that also feels "adult" and sophisticated- purple and gold always seem to have a way of doing that!

Get the Look

Emily Henderson is one of my favorite designers. She brings such each to a space, casual yet elegant- my favorite kind of decor. I love this room- I stumble across it all the time- today I took a closer look, and realized this is a very simple space to recreate, most of it is from Ikea- so it is also budget friendly! 

I love to breakdown what a decorator has done, this room is so fresh and airy- I might take a few cues from her in one of my next client projects. You know what they say- Imitation is the best form of flattery!! Have a super weekend- I am at the Interior Design Show today- or maybe i'll catch you there!

I love the calm serenity of this room. All of the neutrals together with the earthy greens, and gold create such a zen space. I love the fun addition of the disco ball, it is a surprise element that breaks all of the rules of what you expect in this serene neutral space.  Lately I have been shifting away from some of the colour at my home by adding more neutral touches and I am liking it. I am keeping the art colourful but subdued. I will share more of what is going on in our home later this week- adding some plants, and wicker!
