Parisienne Chic

Happy Friday All!! I have always been a huge fan of chic Parisienne bistro decor. Simplistic, rich, and glamorous- without trying to hard of course! The basis of this design are the 2 bistro benches, and the open shelving. I like unconventional design, if you don't hace the space decorate industrial shelves with pretty glassware and monochromatic dish ware, keep everything organizes and add unexpected elements, like the gold antlers, a cluster of natural rock. I love the idea of two large floral prints hung side by side, rich in color, and organic like the light wood of the benches- offset with a modern light fixture!! Bon Weekend!

Vignettes

I am always playing around with the different areas of our home rearranging, rethinking, remaining every space. A space can be completely transformed with a few additions, a little tweak here and there, a colour added, frame changed, such a slight difference can create a completely different mood. All of these images are special for there own reason, some are very simple, clean lines, neutral based, and others are full of color. Each of them looks as if they were very thoughtfully created, complete perfection- but not over worked. There only rule I have is balance. I don't mean symmetry per se, just the feeling of completeness, try to create a balance of object, height and weight, distribute the objects evenly, and I am all for asymmetry- just balance!

Blayre and I are going bowling with a few friends tonight should be fun, the rest of the weekend is being left to hanging out, and getting caught up on work!! See you Monday- Have a great weekend!! xoxo

Emerald + Coral

I love traditional with a twist of whimsy! Instead of the expected red/green combo we have all come to expect each Christmas, I felt inspired to combine emerald(Pantone's color of the year) with coral, some pops of yellow and gold and of course a hint of pink!! This holiday season is all about going out of the box- break all of the rules and just have fun with decor & color!!

Pinteresting...

I am sure you have all seen a million of these posts already, and I am late in the game, but I LOVE Pinterest so I want to share this with anyone who might be just as out of the loop as I am!

It is easy to get carried away with Pinterest. A fun new way to collect images that inspire you, or create boards full of inspiration for future projects, such as DIY projects, recipes, and a huge range of other categories. I find myself "pinning" away for hours. Yes, I only have 12 boards while others have thousands of images- but I quite enjoy perusing through other peoples content, searching for new fresh ideas. I have created a board that also includes pictures of my home(trying to be a more dynamic and personal blogger), it is fun to see how the space has evolved since June!

Being someone who works with other people on their home decor, it is a great way to get a feel for who I am working with. It will allow us to have easy communication, and share our thoughts and ideas together. I would really recommend this highly to anyone working with a client, as they can show you right off the bat what their "at home" personality is.

It is also a lot of fun, I would really encourage anyone- who like me stores thousand of pictures on their desktops called "inspiration" to get on this, you can categorize everything so it is easy to find and write notes on each image. The lay out is simple, very easy to navigate, much easier to view than folders foull of unsorted pictures. What can I say, I love it!

Come on by for a visit!

Always Stay Graceful,
