Art Attack

Hey All, hope you had a great weekend! Today I wanted to talk about art. There are so many fantastic websites dedicated to great art these days. Etsy, Zatista, Art.com and 20x200 to name a few. I love the way art transforms a room. Without it a room can feel sterile, and un lived in. Add a few pieces of art and suddenly it feels transformed. I love all varieties, paintings, photography, illustrations, graphic. I love the combination in a space, it creates a storyline, and a richer feeling. I love layering, and stacking, hanging in a symmetrical fashion, and randomly placing. Sometimes I used uniform frames, often I use different to add visual interest. I don't take it seriously. If I like it, I buy it- and find a place for it, as simple as that. I am not a believer of having a place in mind beforehand, I make it work.

What are you loving right now? Here are a few of my Favorites.

  1. Hi Laura,
I love how art adds such dimension and connection to a space... Your stairway is lovely!
I just added a staircase gallery wall myself and posted about the process. I am pleased with how it turned out.

  4. Hi Laura! That's the question I get the most, how did you know where you were going to put it when you bought it? I too only go on, if I love it I bring it home... in my case it sometimes means a whole room gets cleaned to put my new treasure... ;) I love the kitchen abstract! It's soft, but has great impact! Nice work, awesome verity!

  8. Art really makes a home "homey" for me, in conjunction with a whole wack of books. I'm digging swim inspired prints and florals lately. Do you have any investment art in your place? I saw an Alex Katz print at a museum last year and was really tempted, but the 3K price tag was just too hard to swallow at the time.
